Takenori Atsumi

Biography

Takenori Atsumi (M’07) received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering from Chiba University, Chiba, Japan, in 1997, 1999, and 2006, respectively.

He started his career with the Mechanical Engineering Research Laboratory, Hitachi, Ltd. Ibaraki, Japan, in 1999. From 2009 to 2010, he was a Visiting Fellow with the Data Storage Systems Center (DSSC), Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, USA. From 1999 to 2015, he was with Hitachi Ltd. and HGST Japan, developing control technologies for hard disk drives. Since 2015, he has been with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Chiba Institute of Technology, Chiba, Japan.

Dr. Atsumi is a member of the Society of Instrument and Control Engineers of Japan (SICE), the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME), and the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan (IEEJ).
