Biography

Gildas Besançon (M’19) received the Diploma degree in electrical engineering, the Ph.D. degree in control, and the Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches degree from the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble, Grenoble, France, in 1993, 1996, and 2002, respectively.,He was with Rome University La Sapienza, Rome, Italy between 1997 and 1998, and then joined the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble, Grenoble. In 2010, he became a Full Professor with Grenoble INP, Grenoble. From 2010 to 2015, he also held a nationally distinguished position at the Institut Universitaire de France. His research activities are held at the Gipsa-Lab, Control Systems Department, Grenoble, where he is currently the Head of the research group on nonlinear and complex systems, and these activities address various topics about such systems, with a special interest in observer issues, and applications in energy, hydraulics, or micro/nanosciences.
