Biography

Dr. Hao Xu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR). Prior to joining UNR in 2016, he was an assistant professor in the Department of Engineering at the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMUCC). He received Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology (formerly known as University of Missouri-Rolla) in 2012. His research interests lie in advanced learning and optimization for large scale multi-agent systems (LS-MAS) with applications in heterogeneous robots, ultra-dense network, and smart grid. He is the co-author of the book "Optimal Networked Control Systems with MATLAB" (CRC Press, 2018). He is a Finalist of the Best Paper Award in IEEE-Cyber 2015. He is the Director of Autonomous & Intelligent Mobile Systems (AIMs) Lab and leads the research team to work on emerging techniques including Mean-Field Game, Neuromorphic Computing System, Multi-agent Reinforcement Learning, Robot-assisted wireless network, and so on. The AIMs lab has been supported by the Office of Naval Research (ONR), Air Force Research Lab (AFRL), Army Research Lab (ARL), and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
