Pasquale Palumbo

Biography

Pasquale Palumbo received the Laurea and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of L’Aquila, Italy, in 1995 and 2000, respectively. From 2000 to 2019, he was a Researcher at the Institute of Systems Analysis and Computer Science “A. Ruberti,” Italian National Research Council (IASI-CNR), Rome, Italy, and a Visiting Professor at the University of L’Aquila, teaching courses on probability, systems and control theory, and systems biology. Since 2019, he has been an Associate Professor of Systems and Control Theory at the University of Milano-Bicocca, Milan, Italy, and he holds an Honorary Professorship at Óbuda University, Budapest, Hungary.

He has authored over 160 peer-reviewed publications in nonlinear filtering and control systems, mathematical modeling and control of the glucose–insulin system, and systems and synthetic biology. Prof. Palumbo is a member of the IEEE Control Systems Society, the IEEE Technical Committees on Systems Biology and on Healthcare and Medical Systems, and the CSS Conference Editorial Board (CEB). He received the Kybernetika Editor’s Award in 2013 and the IET Systems Biology Premium Award in 2018. He currently serves as an Associate Editor for /PLOS One/.
