Mara Tanelli

Biography

Mara Tanelli (SM’12) is a Full Professor of Automatic Control at the Politecnico di Milano, where she earned the Ph.D. in Information Engineering with honors in 2007. Her research activities focus on active control of ground vehicles, energy management of electric vehicles and “Smart Mobility”. She is co-author of more than 150 scientific publications and more than 15 patents in these research areas. Since 2013, she is part of the Conference Editorial Board of the IEEE Control Systems Society. She is currently Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology and the IEEE Transactions on Human-Machine Systems. She was publicity co-chair for the 1st IEEE Conference on Human-Machine Systems, ICHMS 2020, and she is Invited Session Chair for the 2021 Mediterranean Conference on Automation and Control (MED21) and Editor of the 2021 IFAC Workshop on LPV Systems (LPVS 2021).

Since 2020, she serves as Students Advocate of the Politecnico di Milano. Further, she is a member of the Administrative Board of the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering, and she is in the steering committee of the “POP: Equal Opportunities at Politecnico di Milano” initiative, also coordinating the working group in charge of the redaction of the “Gender Budget” of the university.
