Engelken Soenke

Biography

Soenke Engelken (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering and computer science from Jacobs University Bremen, Bremen, Germany, in 2007, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in control engineering from The University of Manchester, Manchester, U.K., in 2008 and 2012, respectively.,Since joining ENERCON's R&D division Wobben Research and Development in 2012, he has been occupied a number of technical and managerial positions, focusing on the development of control solutions for wind energy converters, spanning wind turbine controls, electrical systems controls, and grid-side converter controls. He is currently leading the R&D Transformation Office.

Dr. Engelken is a Member of the IEEE Power and Energy Society, IEEE Control Systems Society, and a past Member of the CIGRE Joint Working Group A1/C4.52 Wind Generators and Frequency-Active Power Control, and the ENTSO-E Expert Group on High Penetration Issues.
