Ao (Kevin) Tang Email Biography Ao Tang (S'01–M'07–SM'11) received the B.E. in electronics engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 1999, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering with a minor in applied and computational mathematics from the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, CA, USA, in 2002 and 2006, respectively. He is currently an Associate Professor with the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, USA, where he works on control and optimization of communication networks. Dr. Tang received the following recent awards, the Cornell Engineering School Michael Tien '72 Excellence in Teaching Award in 2011, the Young Investigator Award from the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) in 2012, and the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE) from the White House in 2012.
