Eric Butcher IEEE Region: 6 (Western U.S.) Biography Eric Butcher is a Professor in the Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Arizona. He was formerly a faculty member at New Mexico State University and the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He has a M.S. and Ph.D. (in mechanical engineering) from Auburn University and a M.S. (in aerospace engineering sciences) from the University of Colorado. His research interests lie in nonlinear dynamics and control; time-periodic, time-delayed, stochastic, and fractional order systems; chaos and chaos control; decentralized multi-agent consensus control and estimation; nonlinear vibrations; orbital mechanics and spacecraft GNC; spacecraft attitude, relative motion, coupled orbit/attitude dynamics, and geometric mechanics. He is a former associate editor for the Journal of Computational and Nonlinear Dynamics and the International Journal of Dynamics and Control.
