Biography

Bozenna Pasik-Duncan is Professor of Mathematics and Courtesy Professor of AE and EECS, Investigator of ITTC and Chancellors Club Teaching Professor at University of Kansas. She received her Ph.D. and Habilitation doctorate degrees from Warsaw School of Economics in Poland. Her current research interests are primarily in stochastic adaptive control, computational and statistical data science, stochastic modeling with its applications to engineering, finance, medicine, and telecommunications. Her other interests include integrating research and teaching, STEM and control education. She has served in CSS in many capacities including CSS Vice President for Membership Activities, first chair of Standing Committee on WIC, Chair of TC on Control Education, Associate Editor of TAC, BoG member, and frequent organizer of invited sessions on Stochastic Modeling and Control at CDCs. Currently she represents CSS in IEEE SSIT and SSIT in SC and WIE. Her awards include IEEE Third Millennium Award, IEEE CSS Distinguished Member Award, IFAC Outstanding Service Award, and Outstanding Service to Kansans. She is IEEE Life Fellow; AWM Fellow and IFAC Fellow; KU Women’s Hall of Fame.
