Aaron Ames

Biography

Aaron D. Ames received his Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from University of California, Berkeley in 2006. He has been the Bren Professor of Mechanical and Civil Engineering and Control and Dynamical Systems at California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, California, since 2017.  His research interests center around theoretic methods in hybrid systems and nonlinear control, with a heavy emphasis on applications to bipedal robotic walking---both formally and through experimental validation.
