Biography

Rahul Jain is an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering and the Kenneth C. Dahlberg Early Career Chair at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA. Prior to joining USC, he was a postdoctoral member of the research staff at the Mathematical Sciences Division of the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center, Yorktown Heights, NY. He received his Ph.D. in EECS, and an M.A. in Statistics, both from the University of California, Berkeley. He also received an M.S. in ECE from Rice University where he was a recipient of the Texas Instruments Fellowship. He completed his undergraduate work with a B.Tech in EE from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, where he won the TCS Best B.Tech Project Award. He is a member of the Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) honor society and a recipient of an IBM Invention Achievement Citation. He received a James H. Zumberge Faculty Research and Innovation Award in 2009, an IBM Faculty Award and the NSF CAREER Award in 2010. He also won a Best Paper Award at the ValueTools Conference 2009.

He is a contributing member of many professional societies including ACM, IEEE Communications, Control Systems and Information Theory Societies, and Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS). He has diverse research interests with current focus on Game Theory and Economics for Networks, and Stochastic Control and Learning.
