A Workshop for high school teachers titled "Ideas and Technology of Control Systems" for high school teachers will be held in Baltimore at the Baltimore Marriott Hotel, on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm.

2010 American Control Conference

ACC 2010 will be held this year in Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.A., June 30 - July 2.  More information and a registration link are available at http://www.a2c2.org/conferences/acc2010/. The CSS Board of Governors meeting will be held on June 29 from 1 to 6 p.m. (this meeting is open to all members of the Society).

2010 IEEE Multiconference on Systems and Control

MSC is one of two conferences of which IEEE CSS is the sole sponsor.  This year's event will be held in Yokohama, Japan, September 8 - 10.  Advance registration is open until June 30.  See http://www.mei.titech.ac.jp/msc10/index.htm for more information.

CSS Distinguished Lecturers

The Society maintains an active Distinguished Lecturers program with participation by several leaders in our field. At the request of a Society Chapter (or other IEEE groups), a lecture may be scheduled at a place and time that is mutually agreeable to both the Chapter and the Distinguished Lecturer.  If approved, the Society provides partial financial support.  The  current set of Distinguished Lecturers, seminar topics, and details on how to submit a request are available at http://www.ieeecss.org/main/mab-programs/distinguished-lecturers-program

Reminder:  IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control on CD-ROM

At the CSS Board of Governors meeting in Shanghai in December, a new initiative has been approved.  In 2010, all member subscribers to the IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control will receive the content of the journal on CD-ROM in addition to the paper copy. The CD-ROMs will be distributed with every other issue.  The first five discs will contain the contents of the current and previous month's issues.  The year-end disc will contain the full year's content.  The CD-ROM distribution will give members permanent electronic versions of the journal (members have access to CSS journals  through IEEE Xplore, but this access is only for the duration of their membership and therefore it is temporary).

Reminder:  New Paper Upload Policy for CSS Conferences

We would like to remind all members that in June 2009, the CSS Board of Governors approved a new policy for uploading accepted papers in CSS conferences. This policy will be effective starting with our 2010 conferences, MSC 2010 and CDC 2010.  Authors with full registration will be able to upload up to three papers.  Reduced-rate registrants (e.g., students) will be entitled to upload one paper.  Additional uploads in either case will incur an additional charge.
