Yoshio Ebihara

Biography

Yoshio Ebihara received the B.E., M.E., and D.E. degrees in electrical engineering from Kyoto University, Japan, in 1997, 1999, and 2002, respectively.

In 2002, he joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, Kyoto University, where he held positions as an Assistant Professor, Lecturer, and Associate Professor. Since 2019, he has been a full professor in the Graduate School of Information Science and Electrical Engineering, Kyushu University, Japan.

His research interests include convex optimization in dynamical system analysis and synthesis. He was an associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology, IEEE Control Systems Letters, an editorial member of IET Control Theory & Applications, and currently an associate editor of IEEE CSS Conference Editorial Board and Automatica. He was the chair of the IEEE CSS Technical Committee on Systems with Uncertainty, and currently the chair of the Technical Committee on Robust and Complex Systems. He is also the General Chair of the 10th IFAC Symposium on Robust Control Design, to be held in Kyoto, Japan, in 2022, and the IPC Co-Chair of the 23rd IFAC World Congress, to be held in Yokohama, Japan, in 2023.

He received several awards and honors for his research, including the research award of control division (Kimura Award) from the society of instruments and control engineers, Japan, in 2019.
